Foam Owl Stamp DIY
I don’t know how I have gotten this far into my life without ever having made a stamp. This really stemmed out of something we are working on for RTV- I wanted to do a little experimenting with the art of stamp making, and now I have entered the rabbit hole! I am certain I will be venturing into rubber stamping shortly. The possibilities are endless, and it doesn’t require too much skill to create a functional stamp for cards, scrap booking or simple party decor. I’d like to make something to tie into the boys’ upcoming birthdays (1 and 3 respectively) so I will start to brainstorm soon. I’d love to make all the decor to celebrate these little bubs’ lives!
Because I really like birds, owls and other woodland creatures, I decided to make an owl for my first stamp. I googled “owl graphic” and found one I liked. I then blew it up to the size I wanted, and printed it out. Voila! I also tried a few other stamps from sketches I made up, which would also be a great place to start if you are blessed to be an artiste.
I hope you enjoy, and feel inspired to make your own stamps. The world of rubber stamping has really peaked my interest, but, foam is easy to work with, and great for making kids stamps. You can use ink pads, or simple acrylic craft paint for stamping up your life. I don’t know what I will use this one for as of yet, but I certainly enjoyed the process
