Galvanized Bucket DIY

A few weeks back I picked up these inexpensive galvanized buckets to use in our kitchen. I am loving the feeling of nautical things, so I decided to add a few numbers onto these to unify them a bit, and add some color!

You will need:

  • 3 Galvanized buckets
  • Acrylic Craft Paint
  • Number or Letter Stencils (I found mine at the $ store)
  • Paint Brush
  • Tape

Select your buckets. There were 3 in my collection.

Select your paint color. I used acrylic craft paint in Red.

Select your stencil and determine placement. I chose "4,5,6" for my buckets. You could choose letters, a series of words, or just go random!

Fix stencils, and begin to paint. While these stencils come with adhesive backs, I chose to secure them with a bit of masking tape so that I could re-use them, and this worked fine.

Brush or dab paint. You don't have to be too careful, just be sure not to leave blobs of paint or to have to much paint near the edges as it may bleed.

Remove stencil, and voila! Your bucket just needs to dry, and it is ready to be used or displayed ;-)

Group them together or spread them out.
