DIY Bead Board Backsplash
So, we are currently under renovations in our kitchen- 8 days and counting. All of the cabinets are in, oak countertop is in place- and appliances are back to their homes! We just need our sink, hardware, and mouldings and we will be finished!
In the mean time, I wanted to share with you a quick DIY for creating your very own cottage style kitchen by incorporating a bead board backsplash. For this project you will need:
- Appropriate amount of primed beadboard paneling for your square footage
- No More nails liquid adhesive
- a saw (for cutting your pieces to size)
- Paint
- Silicone
- Optional: trim- if you aren’t super precise with your cuts!
Be sure your area is prepped and ready to go. We removed our 30yr old tile backsplash because we were moving our cupboards, and the wall behind it was not left in great shape. However, my mom glued right over her existing tile backsplash. I have also heard of people hot gluing their paneling to the tile, but I am not sure how well this would hold up over time?
This is a relatively quick project, and adds a cozy element to our kitchen. Last Friday I asked your opinion on painting the beadboard a color other than white… Kind of like this:

What do you think? White or color… I still can not decide! For the time being, it is white.
I will have a full reveal of our kitchen next week- now that I think about it, it is looking a lot like this picture… which reminds me that I forgot about the under cabinet lighting that is yet to go in… hmmm. Wish us luck! Happy Tuesday

[...] The wall was pretty ugly… not going to lie. It was a nice feeling to slap that bead board backsplash up! It easily wipes clean and was a good alternative to re-drywalling and putting in a tile backsplash. You can take a peak at a past post where I went through the install process for a bead board backsplash. [...]

Ash! Those oak counter-tops are BEAUTIFUL! Also, I do like the colored bead-board. The white is certainly very clean, but those muted spa tones like those in your sample photo also add a calm, serene effect
I am voting white. I think because you are planning to sell…and I love the contrast of white with the countertops. That’s my opinion.:)
White:) love the wood with white too!
That’s tough, cause this blue looks amazing with the white and brown. I can’t wait to see all the pictures! Great job!!
Thanks ladies for your input
I think we will stay with white for now, because we are planning to sell in the near future… perhaps it might be color for the next kitchen! Pictures coming this week
