About Me

Mama’s Dance came to be shortly before the birth of my second son in 2010. I didn’t know what exactly it would be, I just knew I had something to share (but didn’t think anyone would really be reading it) and before I knew it, I developed a little readership. Who knew paintbrushes, parenting errs and 2 years of sleeplessness would be interesting? And so, Mamas Dance grew. The funny thing is, whether I have 1 or 100 hundred (thousand) readers, I enjoy what I do.

What do you do? (you may be asking) Well. I paint things… mostly wooden things. I look at a picture or piece of furniture, think to myself “I can do that…” and then try it. I sometimes wrangle other people to try it with me (like my sidekick* Matt) (*insert husband*) and we eventually end up transforming their space. Why not? Let’s put our heads together and create a space you love!

I also dance. That’s right, the title isn’t just a figurative thing… I really love to dance, and now that I have my boys, would go so far as to say I have been dancing since birth.  In our house, no day is complete without a living room dance party.

I do… motherhood. Or at least I try. There is a lot of trial and error, some tears, frustrations, and serious belly laughs. The really good ones, when tears start to well up in your eyes and your face starts to hurt.

And most of all, I do life. I try to love people for who they are, and join in the call to be even better than that. Because who doesn’t want to be at their best. ( I know I sure do) But more than that, who doesn’t fail at times? And who doesn’t need some encouragement to get back up again. To have trust restored and value deemed. I believe each person has value and a purpose. Each. and. every. one.

Thanks for stopping by, and reading my incredibly amazing about section. So incredible, you might come back?

*let’s face it, I’m his side kick.
